About Us

Our Story

Waves is a family run swimming school who teach children of all abilities from age 4 onwards. Tony Ross and his late wife Clare established Waves in 1998 and their family continue to have a major role within the programme.

Prior to starting the swim school Tony was a National Competitive Swimmer and still a very keen open water swimmer. Tony’s initial introduction to teaching swimming was with Bexley Borough primary schools, he then moved onto coaching at Beckenham, Bexley and Erith. He has coached swimmers to International and GB standard.

Our Values

Waves is known for our quality of teaching and our unique swim programme. Our main emphasis is on learning to swim and progressive stroke techniques which will serve the children for life. When they complete our award scheme, they will be competent swimmers with a high standard of stamina, fitness, and stroke techniques. This valuable life skill allows them to move onto other competitive water-based sports and Waves can assist in achieving these goals due to our contacts within the sport.
