On Monday 22nd August 2022 I completed my channel solo attempt successfully.

I set off in the dark at 4.00am with my boat crew, comfortable gentle pace initially.

I had my drinks and treats passed to me every hour on a fishing rod, of which I wasn’t allowed to touch or hold onto in the event of disqualification.

Hour after Hour I just kept going thinking only of the next feed, this was my motivation to keep going,

Apart from the Jelly Fish stings every thing went to plan, the sea was calm and I got stronger as the hours passed.

I made a conscious effort not to look forward or back, just breathing towards the boat.

I was encouraged by the crew to look up when within the hour of France, then I gave it everything i had.

24 miles –  11 hours and 11 minutes later i made it to the rocks of Cap Gris-Nes France, i climbed out and was greeted by a French group of people who kindly clapped my achievement.

A great day out, on to the next challenge.

i would like to thank you all for your support and donations to the Children’s Rainbow Trust. The donations will certainly help and they are truly thankful.
